Positive Affirmations Can Boost Your Self-Confidence

Somewhere, deep down inside you, lies a small voice that’s telling you that you’re not good enough. It’s telling you that the worst case scenario is the most likely result. It’s whispering over and over and over again that there’s no point in trying because you’re never going to do it anyway.

That voice could be your source of comfort, but instead, it’s tearing you down.

The good news is that you can retrain it to become a force for good.

The best way to do that? Positive Affirmations. With them you can build a healthy internal dialogue that offers you real encouragement and support.

You have a choice, either you can choose a single positive affirmation or you can rely on dozens on them.

Whatever you decide, it’s important that you choose affirmations that resonate with you and are relevant to your situation at the time. You can repeat them every morning as you look yourself in the eye in a mirror. Or, you can repeat them in times of need when you need a good boost.

You’re incredible and you have overcome all number of hardships. You are a unique human being who can carve out a wonderful life. You deserve that. Whether you believe it or not.

If you don’t believe it, then it’s important that you ask yourself why. There’s a good chance it’s because your inner voice is shouting down your hope.

If necessary, write out a list of all the things that you love about yourself.

Your sense of humor
Your single dimple
Your fighting spirit
Your ability to laugh at yourself
Your compassion.

Just create a list of what you really cherish about yourself and use it to create a vision board (whether a literal one you can hang on your wall or a small one in a notepad or even in an app).

Look at it when you need to remind yourself of how you deserve love and happiness. Make sure you include positive affirmations in it that will serve as a visual reminder.

When you extend unconditional love to yourself, you understand that forgiveness of self is important. It’s important to let go of the pain we’ve caused ourselves in the past and move forward. With positive affirmations, you can stand taller, smile more often, and enjoy more self-confidence.

Quite often, our lack of self-confidence is rooted in making comparisons to others. When you fall into the trap of believing that you are worthless, you are comparing yourself to someone and convincing yourself that you are in fact worth less than them for whatever reason.

There are billions of us on this planet, but there is only one you.

Positive Affirmations

The following is a list of positive affirmations that you can use to increase your self-confidence. It’s certainly not exhaustive; you will find that some of them work for you while others don’t. That’s okay, once you get used to using positive affirmations you can create your own as well.

  • I am my own person and I am enough.
